Industrial Hygeinist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Industrial hygeinists can be
administrators, researchers, consultants or teachers. They evaluate health
hazards, conduct health risk assessments, manage industrial or business health
programs, and provide consultation. Some of them work in an industrial or
government team, and some of them have private practices. They often:

Collect samples and perform laboratory analyses.
·
Check worker exposure to radiation, vibrations,
and noise.
·
Calibrate equipment.
·
Investigate possible health hazards.
·
Conduct epidemiological research.
·
Instruct employees on injury prevention
techniques.
Average Salary: $40,000- $60,000
Educational Requirements:
Students
should take challenging college preparatory courses in math and science in high
school.
A
career in this field requires a Bachelor’s Degree in occupational health and
safety, ` environmental health
engineering, or the physical sciences. Many jobs require certification and a Master’s
Degree in these fields.
I wouldn’t like to be a dental hygienist because it is not
interesting.
