Duties and Responsibilities: Doctor
of Oriental Medicine is a job which includes the practice of acupuncture,
Chinese herbology, and Asian bodywork therapy.
They provide and manage direct patient care, including physical
examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and specialized oriental
medicine procedures and treatment for a specified patients population. They
prescribe herbal and other medications and treatment regimens as appropriate to
assessed medical conditions. They perform procedures of acupuncture and other
related procedures. They also perform physical medicine modalities, procedures,
and devices.
Salary: $30,000-$150,000
Education: Minimum requirements
include satisfactory completion of at least two academic years of education at
the baccalaureate level that is appropriate preparation for graduate level
work.
