"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."
Dean Smith
I think this means that once you do good all things come unexpecatdely and unknowingly. It means that if you choose what is right you will get a reward from it. Dean Smith wasn't trying to coach a team for himself, he was trying to coach a team for them and so that they can win and be good. He wasn't trying to be loved or leave a legacy behind but he was trying to do his job and coach a team well. Because of this he gained the reaspect of his team and they loved him because he never forgot about them. So this shows that you should always do good because sooner or later you will be rewarded for it and praised for it.

This quote means that if you choose the right you will always be happy and always be successful. It willl make you feel great always and you will always feel good about yourself. For example if you choose the right and always listen in class and proceed forward, what awaits you is a life full of hapiness and succes. But if you choose the wrong and decide to hang out with the wrong people and start doing drugs, you will fail and start disconnecting from all the things that make you happy and you will dicsonnect from all the happiness and success in your life.

"Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all."
Aristotle
This means that in order to truly educate yourself you have to educate your heart first. In order to learn you have to educate your heart first. Also, you have to learn thath you have to educate yourself from both places. This kind of reminds me of the saying you hear but you dont listen. You have to educate your heart in order to educate your mind.

"Choosing the right thing is always the right thing to do."
Alex Linares
This statement means that you should always choose the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Just like that, choosing the wrong is the wrong thing to do. You should always do what you feel is right because it will most likely be the good thing to do. You should't choose the wrong thing because it is bad and you will feel bad. If you choose the wrong and do wrong things then you will feel guilt. If you choose the right you will feel good about yourself.

ANON
I think this means that it's better to have no friends than to be surrounded by bad friends. It is better to be by yourself than to be full of people who are bad influences and that make you do bad things. For example if you hang out with people that drink and smoke, then you will most likely begin drinking and smoking too. That is why it is better to be alone. By yourself you can't develop the habit.

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
Ezra T. Benson
This means that you cant do something that you know and feel to be wrong and get good results from it, it isn't possible. For example if you do drugs you will never feel good after it and you will never feel good about yourself either. If you choose wrong it will remain in you mind and will never get out. You will live with it forever and you will not be able to get over it. You have to choose the right always to feel good about yourself and to not feel bad. If you choose the right you will feel right and you won't have to live with the fact you did something worng. So just choose the right and don't choose the wrong so you won't have to live with the fact that you did something wrong. You won't feel guilt either. If you choose the wrong and expect to feel good about it, the feeling will never come.

"I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing that to incur the reproach of our consciences."
Robert E. Lee
Doing the right may hurt you a little bit. It means that you'll have to suffer sometimes. This means that you should choose the right at all times. For example, if someone is trying to get you to do drugs, smoke, or even drink, you should be smart enough to walk away or deny their offer. If you choose right over wrong, you will feel good about yourself. But if you do accept their offer, you will feel bad about yourself and feel guilty too. You should choose the right because you are aware of how these substances harm you and how bad they are for you. When you do the right thing you will feel good about yourself. For example if you do what is expected before they tell you, you will feel good that you did what you were supposed to and you might even get a praise. When you do the bad thing you will feel bad about yourself. For example, if you don't do your homework then you will suffer the consequences and feel bad about yourself.

"Tell me what is right and I will fight for it."
Woodrow Wilson
I think this quote is trying to say that if you tell him what is right he will stand up for it and fight for it. He will fight off the wrong and stand up to what is right. He also means that he won't let the wrong get in the way even if its the better thing to do. For example, if someone is being bullied because of race and you know it's wrong you should do something about it and stand up for it. Because racism is bad and if you ignore the problem, it will only continue to happen.

"The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is true test of  moral character."
Margaret Chase Smith

This means that the right way to go won't always be fun, easy, or popular. But no matter how embarrassing or shameful it is it is the best and right thing to do. If you do choose the right you will feel better and won't suffer the consequences. For example if you know someone is being threatened or treated bad in  school you might want to tell a teacher but are afraid of getting called a snitch. This is why after all the embarrassing stuff passes, you will feel good that you choose the right and chose the right thing to do.

Kodaline
I recently discovered a band called Kodaline. On you tube you will usually find people who do covers of songs on their channel. I discovered a certain individual named Liam Doyle when i was looking for a cover of  a song. I fell in love with his voice and subscribed to him. Later on i scrolled through his videos and saw that many of them were covers of songs by Kodaline. So i decided to check this band out and wasn't dissapointed. I was surprised when i saw that a front row ticket was $100 compared to $7,000 for one direction. I'm glad i found this certain type of music I really liked them.
My experience so far at HPIAM

My experience at HPIAM has been good. The school is alright. I am a freshman. I don’t like wearing uniform and it’s too expensive. $25 for a shirt is not cheap and they are not even good quality. I think we should be allowed to wear uniform. Maybe if they were $15 it would be alright but they are not. They should make the teachers wear them so that we can protest together. The quality of a shirt doesn’t matter we should just wear regular material shirts instead of sports tee shirts. They’re thin and will rip.  Another thing I don’t like about this school is Tuesdays. It is crowded enough every day when our school is in lunch, when all 3 of them go out to lunch it’s even more crowded. The lunch lines are really long that particular day and the line to the student store is too. Overall the schools maintenance is good. The school is pretty clean. They also don’t open the bathrooms in the hallways. What is the point of bathrooms if they’re never open and you can’t use them? It’s unnecessary that we have to go all the way downstairs when there is bathrooms right outside of class. The teachers are OK too. They all have their way of teaching but they’re good. Some of them take time with you and others don’t. As for clubs and sports, I have not joined any. I feel that if I join any extracurricular activity outside of school my grades will go down. They have a good variety of clubs though. There are many to choose from. Sports are OK too. There are also a lot and a lot to choose from. Maybe next year I’ll care to join. So far, I’m trying to keep up with my classes.

"There is no justification for choosing any part of what you know to be evil.."
I think this quote means that there is actually no justification on choosing the wrong. No excuses. You can always choose what is right. If you choose the wrong knowingly then you will be punished for it.  When something is wrong you can feel it and you will know that you will get in trouble. For example is someone offers you drugs, and you know it is wrong and is bad for you, you have no excuse to be doing it.

The Sting of the Scorpion
The lesson of the video is to always choose the right thing at all given times. In this video the boy and his family went to camp to a desert. His parents would always tell him to wear his shoes when wandering of into the sand. That particular day, the boy decided to disobey and wear flip-flops because he was going on a brief exploration. As a result a scorpion stung him. He then recognized that because he decided to disobey and rebellious and lazy. This is why you should always chose the right and listen to directions.
