Students Success Statement
"Right is right, even if  everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong everyone is for it."
William Penn
This statement means that right will be right regardless of who is for it and who is against it. Even if no one is for choosing the right, doesn't make it the wrong thing. It will continue to be the right thing. Also, even though everyone wants to choose the wrong, it doesn't make it the right thing to do. Do not follow the crowd and do whatever everyone else is doing even if it is wrong, be different and unique and choose the right even if no one wants to choose it with you.

Cowardice asks the question 'Is it safe?'
Expendiency asks the question 'Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question 'Is it popular?'
But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR,

I think this means that the right thing won't always be safe, factual, or popular but you still have to do it to have peace within yourself. Your conscience will be quiet if you do the thing you know is right.

"Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith let us to then end dare to do our duty as we understand it."
Abraham Lincoln
I think this means that we must have faith so that we could create hope when we do the right thing.  I believe that Lincoln is telling us that we must always do right because that should be our only duty. People can do right for one day but it should be something that is constantly told. We need to believe that choosing the right will lead to more good things in the world. If you keep up the idea that what you are doing is making a difference. If we believe then we feel that push to keep on going.

Victor Hugo

This means that you can only do right if you complete what you do. You cant just half-finish something and expect it to be great, you have to complete it. When you complete something and it is right, the whole thing is right.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
Student Success Statement
"That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased."
Ralph Waldo Emerson.
This means that if something is hard to do, it is because you haven't practiced or persisted enough. For example, if you are told to say the alphabet it will be very simple because you have done it so many times that you need not to think about it but if you are asked to do it backwards, then you will have trouble doing it because you are not used to it. This is the reason that you must keep practicing something until you succeed in doing it and get used to it.

When You Tell One Lie
Paul Hatch

When you tell one lie, it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Brother,
You're in trouble up to your ears!

So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won't suspect you
Then you tell six lies and you'll collect
A life filled with worries and fears

'Cause you can't remember how many lies you've told
And half the things you say aren't true
And sometimes you'll slip up, you'll trip up and then
Whatever will become of you?

So you lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep multiplying
'Till the whole wide world will know you're lying
The you'll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
And you should!
When you lie, you're closing the door
On everything good

"The difference between the impossible and possible lies in DETERMINATION."
Tommy Lasorda
This quote means that you can do anything you want if you are determined and willing to do anything to achieve your goals. If you want something but are not determined, you will never get anything because you will always be waiting for it to come easily. Determination shifts the impossible to possible. A goal will always be a goal and never come true if you don't try hard enough. The dodgers had many consecutive wins because Tommy taught them how to be determined. They were determined to win and eventually they did. In the background, you could hear a spectator yelling " I can not believe what I just saw!" Well the dodgers couldn't believe it either, but they did, because they were determined to win.
